Date and Time: Thursdays @ 6:30pm starting February 20th until March 25th (Excluding Spring Break week)

Location: Student Center 3102

Instructor: Joe Theall

Description: The course will be designed to take a critical look at the modern cinematic landscape and what are labeled by the Academy of Motion Picture and Sciences as the Best Pictures of the year. Each week one of the ten Best picture nominees will be viewed and discussed, with a particular interest whether our group's preferences match those of Academy voters and what these films offer to audiences. In addition, the course will focus on whether the films and the Oscar system is truly representative of the modern state of cinema, or if there are other films that are more accurate depiction of movies in 2013.
